Dallas Resources

As we look to serve and help others, many times we need the help of specialists and other organizations to partner with in supporting our friends and others that we meet.  Below are a few organizations that may be of resource to you in this journey.

Church Recovery Programs

Child Abuse and Neglect

  • CASA of Collin County - CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Collin County provides trained community volunteers to advocate in the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in the court system. 
  • Collin County Children's Advocacy Center - The Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County provides safety, healing and justice to children victimized by abuse or neglect.  Their services are provided by a well integrated model of intervention and a fully represented multi-disciplinary team.
  • Collin Intervention to Youth - City House - City House provides emergency shelter and transitional residential services to children and young adults who are in need due to abuse, neglect and homelessness.
  • Dallas Children's Advocacy Center - Serving at risk children in our Dallas community
  • Family Outreach of Richardson/Plano - Family Outreach is a network of community-based volunteers working to prevent child abuse and neglect through one-on-one support to families.  Also parenting classes, a helpline and community education are provided.
  • Texas Department of Family and Protective Services - Provides protective services to children and to disabled or elderly adults.

Domestic Violence

  • Crossroads Family Services - Crossroads provides family counseling and services for the victim's, youth, and families of Plano, Allen, McKinney, Frisco and surrounding cities.
  • The Family Place - The Family Place offers intervention, emergency shelter, and crisis counseling for all victims—women, children and men and provides transitional housing and case management.
  • Family Outreach of Richardson/Plano - Family Outreach is a network of community-based volunteers working to prevent child abuse and neglect through one-on-one support to families.  Also parenting classes, a helpline and community education are provided.
  • Genesis Women's Shelter - provides quality safety and shelter to battered women and their children through crisis intervention and short term crisis therapeutics and to reduce the occurrence of violence against women and children in the greater Dallas area.
  • Hope's Door - Hope's Door is a shelter and counseling center that offers comprehensive programs and services that are designed to help break the cycle of domestic abuse.
  • Mosaic Family Services - Mosaic Family Services is a nonprofit community-based organization that provides services free of charge to refugees and immigrants who are victims of human trafficking and domestic violence in North Texas. 

Addictions/Substance Abuse

  • Alcoholics Anonymous - Provides general resources and information and directory of local AA groups.
  • Capstone Treatment Center - Christian program for young men 14-24 for addictions, trauma, behavior and therapy treatment.  (not in Dallas)
  • Collin County Substance Abuse Program - Provides alcohol and drug prevention and intervention services to all county residents.
  • Crossroads Family Services - Crossroads provides family counseling and services for the victim's, youth, and families of Plano, Allen, McKinney, Frisco and surrounding cities.
  • Dallas Challenge - Provides services primarily to youth participants 7-23 years of age with history or high risk of substance abuse, juvenile delinquency, truancy, school failure and other concerns. 
  • Green Oaks Hospital - Mental Health and addiction services.
  • House of Isiah - Long Term Residential recovery for men.
  • Nexus Recovery Center - Nexus Recovery Center is a female-only substance abuse treatment center.  Nexus offers programs for adult women, women with accompanying children, pregnant women or women with infants, and adolescent girls ages 13 to 17.
  • Northpointe Family Center - Provides services in an outpatient environment where children and adolescents can learn to deal effectively with psychological, emotional, chemical dependency, and social problems.
  • Oxford Houses - self-supported recovery homes for individuals recovering from addiction to alcohol and/or other drugs.
  • Phoenix House - Provides services protecting and supporting individuals, families, and communities affected by substance abuse and dependency.  
  • Salvation Army Adult Rehab Center - The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers provide spiritual, social and emotional assistance for men and women who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves.
  • Solutions Outpatient Services - Provides a safe and healing environment for clients and their families so they can recover from addictions and become equipped with the tools to sustain and maintain a lasting comfortable recovery.
  • Teen Challenge - Faith based drug and alcohol recovery program.
  • The Right Step - Detox and recovery for drug and alcohol addictions

  • Center for Christian Counseling - specialties include depression, anxiety, anger, addictions of all kinds, marriage and family issues.

  • Meier Clinics - Provides a wide range of mental health issues including depression, addictions, anger, anxiety, ADD / ADHD, behavior issues, burnout, codependency, grief, marital and pre-marital concerns, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic, parenting, post traumatic stress, self-esteem, spiritual concerns, stress, and more.
  • Minirth Clinic - Assessment, diagnostic, individual and family counseling.
  • Plano Counseling - serving Dallas, Plano, Frisco, McKinney and Allen areas.
